The people of Ontario own the Crown forests of the province. MNR and Westwind both recognize the importance of ensuring that the owners of the forest have an opportunity to provide meaningful input into forest management planning. That's why MNR developed a five-stage process for public consultation. This website guide will explain the five stage process and more. In addition, MNR has developed a booklet called, "A Guide to Forest Management Planning." Many of the sections of this website guide include text from the MNR publication. Single copies of the MNR publication are available at no charge, bulk orders may involve charges.
Current publications of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, and price lists, are also available from this office. Telephone inquiries about ministry programs and services should be directed to the Natural Resources Information Centre: |
