FSC® Certification
On February 14, 2002, Westwind received an FSC "Certificate of Approval" from SGS Qualifor, a third party auditing firm accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council as a Certifying Body. The certificate recognizes the French/Severn Forest as fulfilling all the requirements of a "Well Managed Forest".

program that provides consumers with the
power to choose products from forests that
are considered to be well-managed, based
on rigorous independent assessments.

Westwind Certification Policy
 One of the aims and objectives of Westwind is to promote a system of forest certification and maintain a standard of forest management which is recognized globally as "sustainable". To further this aim and objective Westwind supports a long-term commitment to the Forest Stewardship Council's Principles and Criteria for Forest Stewardship.
Regional standards for the Great lakes St. Lawrence Forests, when endorsed, will be implemented by Westwind to promote environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the French/ Severn Forest. It is the intent of Westwind to protect and maintain the integrity of the French/Severn Forest in the long term. Westwind's forest management practices and policies will comply with all FSC Principles and Criteria.
This policy is to be made available to the public and is endorsed by the Senior Management and Board of Directors for Westwind. This policy will be communicated throughout the organization including contractors and will be reviewed and updated regularly.
