| GLSL: Great Lakes - St Lawrence forest extending inland from the edges of the Great Lakes and bounded on the south by the St Lawrence River. It extends west into SE Manitoba but does not include the area north of Lake Superior |
| SFL: A Sustainable Forest License or SFL is a licence, renewable up to 20 years, to harvest forest resources in a management unit. The licensee is required to carry out the planning, renewal and maintenance activities necessary to provide for the sustainability of the Crown forest covered by the licence. The licence will be reviewed every five years to make sure the licensee has complied with terms and conditions. |
| NTFP: Non-timber forest products are derivatives of the forest environment not traditionally associated with forestry. They can include such things as mushrooms, ferns, berries, herbs, numerous products for the dried floral industry, medicinal plants etc. |
