They provide excellent information including a list of Certified Trainers and details on Cut and Skid Training, Professional Chain Saw Operation, Mechanical Harvesting and Tree Planting. They sell a number of products like training videos and supporting training publications as well as sponsoring training conferences. |
WSIB Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario (800) 663-6639
One of the two major pieces of legislation governing workplace safety in Ontario, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act has its own website for accessing programs, publications and forms for both employers and employees. |
WHMIS Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
This is a technical site for all kinds of substance specific WHMIS information including the relevant Acts, MSDS resources, alerts and even downloadable graphics for labels. |
CCOHS Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (800)668-4284
This is a national site funded by the federal Ministry of Health. It's great for answering day-to-day questions. And for more technical needs you can use their phone or email enquiry service or if you're having trouble finding an answer. Their directory is updated frequently so check the new listings if you're a regular visitor. |

OHS Occupational Safety and Health for Every Workplace
This site is jointly sponsored by WSIB the Ministry of labour and numerous Health & Safety partners. They provide a number of electronic documents free and updated regularly. There are some sample Policies and Procedures for adaptation. |
OHCOW Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers
If prevention is the better part of training then this website is a good resource. It's strong point is their inquiry service. Check out the Heat Stress Response Plan and their on site calculator. |
CANOSH Canadian National Occupational Health & Safety
This site links all the federal and provincial Worker Compensation Boards which helps if you are looking for jurisdictional differences in regulations. |
