Westwind strives to manage the French-Severn forest in an economically sustainable manner. By managing the forest to improve the quality and value of wood, Westwind increases the likelihood that future operators will be able to produce valuable timber and wood products. This is done by harvesting stands so that the future condition will be better, with a higher percentage of healthy trees and the conditions for successful regeneration. Additionally, Westwind manages the forest so that there is a predictable wood supply. Modelling helps to determine the allowable harvest level so that operators are able to harvest a reasonable amount of wood now but will also be able to have a predictable wood supply into the future.
Respect. Honesty. Integrity.
Westwind Forest Stewardship has been orchestrating sustainable forest management in the French-Severn Forest since 1998.
